staphylococcus is most common organism found n puncture wounds but pseudomonas is most characteristic.

aminoglycosides along with an antistapohylococcal are indicated (tobramycin & cefazolin) for pseudomonas

tetanus

osteomyelitis develops in 1-2% of children who sustain a puncture wound through the sole of a tennis shoe.

I&D in OR, frequently a foreign body such as a piece of sneaker is found deep in wound
