The appropriate treatment for painless inferior subluxation of the humeral head without neurocirculatory compromise is observation. The source states: “Inferior subluxation of the humeral head is not uncommon after trauma of the proximal humerus, fractures of the glenoid, tears of the capsule of ligament, dislocation of the shoulder with nerve injury, isolated brachial plexus injury and postoperatively when adequate sling support is not provided. Complete recovery is anticipated in the majority of cases. The humerus is supported with a sling to reduce the inferior subluxation. Isometric exercises for the deltoid and rotator cuff muscles are begun early. EMG studies may be considered for those thought to have nerve injuries.
