Lateral injury view.
Surgery
- volar approach between FCR and radial septum
- Pronator quadratus was found to lacerated in its midportion by the volar fragment spike.
- A spiral fracture line was found proximally not appreciated on xrays, but requiring a longer plate than anticipated.
- Stryker volar Universal Distal Radius plate utilized for fixation. The oval hole in the plate was located directly over the main fracture line preventing is use for initial plate placement.
