Apply direct compression of median nerve at the carpal tunnel
Postive test = paresthesias in median nerve distribution within 30 seconds.
Indicates:
carpal tunnel syndrome

hands held in forced maximum flexion for 60 seconds,
Positive test = numbness or tingling in radial digits within 60 seconds
Indicates:
carpal tunnel syndrome
. Sensitivity =40-88%, Specificity = 81%
